Is there some crazy bizarro universe where people call ALL characters they don’t like Mary Sues now? Cause last I checked it was only supposed to refer to poorly constructed characters who lack real flaws and/or character depth. 

I’ve seen a lot of people on my dash getting upset about this lately but I haven’t seen any of the thing that’s supposedly happening. I don’t know who in their right mind would call an “average” character a Mary Sue. :/

In honor of Thorsday, I wish to speak to you all for a moment.

I am truly honored to have received such a warm welcome by all of you from Midgard — it is nothing short of astonishing!

Many of you have come to me with compliments, to bring tidings of joy and merriment in your lives — or to comment upon my hair … or perhaps, even my rear. Which I am still rather baffled about!

And there are some of you who come forth, bringing to me the daily ills of your lives. I have never thought myself a wise Asgardian, nor did I ever believe my counsel worthy enough. Alas, I regret I cannot answer all of you individually. And so I am speaking to the ones I found no words for, or perhaps did not notice.

Yes, I am speaking to you, kind Midgardian, who has shown such patience with me.

Life is … life is a strange thing, is it not? It tugs us, kicks us, laughs with cruelty as our bodies hit the ground with an agonizing slam. It takes even more than a god to know how to expertly combat it! Even I, with my centuries of life, am still but a child against its vicious grip.

Know this, however — that is not all life is. It is a constant struggle, yes, but at many moments, if you allow it, it can bring forth innumerable amounts of joy! The adrenaline will course through your veins, and you will thank all that is good in your realm that you are alive!

I know that you may feel, as you all might say, “down for the count”. I often feel this way. But there is such strength in all of you! Such courage! You need only look inside yourself to see it!

You have every means to live a life you deem worthy! I know it — by my very bones — I know it!

You must fight, Midgardian. It will not be easy, it will sometimes feel like a perpetual war, and you will be tired, fatigued by a battle that seems hopeless, and the possibility of victory will seem too far to be considered reasonable … !

You will tread upon the soft, green grasses of peace, and you will lie in its meadow and be caressed by the welcoming arms of the sun, one day. And you will know victory — the truest, purest form of it. For you fought for that victory, for that triumph that consumes you in the best way possible.

I am honored to be Midgard’s protector, for it is a realm that I have never encountered before. Its people are unique in the most beautiful of manners, so resilient, so very brave and kind-hearted in their ways!

My opinion may not be considered liable, for I am not of Midgard, but it is a belief I hold in my heart, and will continue to do so until the days of Ragnarok.

I thank you. I thank all of you. You have made me feel most welcome, humans.

I simply hope you never forget how breathtakingly fantastic you all are, and I will always be watching over you.
